A small hummingbird (9-10 cm) endemic to southwestern Mexico in Guerrero and Oaxaca. Males have a magenta gorget similar to Lucifer Hummingbird. Long, decurved bill. Nectarivore of dry forest and thorn scrub. A Mexican endemic with restricted range.
