Semipalmated Sandpiper: 13–15 cm, abundant small North American sandpiper with partial toe webbing, blunt black bill, and greyish-brown breeding plumage. Breeds on Arctic tundra of Canada and Alaska; migrates via Atlantic coast to winter in South America. Millions stage in Bay of Fundy. NT. Long-distance migrant. Invertebrate feeder.
