Pardalotidae

Pardalotes; 4 species of tiny, jewel-like Australian birds with spotted or streaked plumage and short, fine bills. Largely arboreal; feed on lerps (insects and sugary coatings) from eucalyptus leaves. Nest in burrows in the ground or hollow branches. The smallest Australian passerines.
