The Black-chested Tyrant is a small, distinctive tyrant flycatcher of northern South American forests in Venezuela, Trinidad, and adjacent areas of Brazil and Guyana, with males showing a black breast band and head pattern contrasting with white underparts and rufous wings. It inhabits the undergrowth and lower levels of humid forest edges and dense secondary growth. It feeds on small insects.
