Cocos Booby
76–84 cm. Brown and white booby restricted to Cocos Island and nearby east Pacific islands; sometimes treated as subspecies of Brown Booby. Plunge-dives for fish in productive eastern Pacific waters. Near Threatened; small breeding range; feeds on flying fish and anchovy.
Peruvian Booby
74 cm. Dark brown above; white below; blue-grey bill and feet. Breeds on Humboldt Current islands of Peru and Chile; highly abundant. Feeds on anchovy in the Benguela-like upwelling; one of the most productive seabird fisheries. Population crashes severely during El Niño.
