Pohnpei Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus ponapensis), 22 cm. Green with a lilac head and an orange-yellow breast; endemic to Pohnpei, Micronesia. Occupies primary forest above 200 m on this volcanic island. Frugivore. Vulnerable; total range barely exceeds 100 km².

Slender dove, 28–33 cm, with grey-brown plumage, a long pointed tail with white outer feathers, and small black facial spots. North America's most hunted game bird, numbering ~400 million. Inhabits open farmland, grassland, and suburban areas across the USA, Mexico, and Central America. Granivore of seeds and grains. Least Concern.
