Black-billed Woodhoopoe

The Black-billed Woodhoopoe is a slender, long-tailed bird of East African dry woodland and scrub, with glossy greenish-black plumage, a white-tipped long tail, and a short curved black bill. It ranges in the arid and semi-arid zones of the Horn of Africa from Somalia and Ethiopia to northern Kenya. It feeds on insects and larvae extracted from bark and rotting wood with its probing bill.
