Medium pigeon, 27–30 cm, rich ruddy brown overall with a grey crown, vinaceous-pink underparts, and iridescent green gloss on the neck. Inhabits humid foothill and montane forests from Costa Rica through the Andes to Bolivia and northwest Brazil. Frugivore of forest berries and fruits. Least Concern.
