Yellow-footed Gull
Yellow-footed Gull, 53–58 cm, has a very restricted range — endemic to the Gulf of California with post-breeding dispersal to Salton Sea. Yellow feet (unique among large western gulls), yellow bill with red spot. Piscivore and scavenger; forages on rocky shores. Resident; does not undertake long migrations.
Saunders's Gull
Saunders's Gull, 29–32 cm, is a Vulnerable gull breeding in coastal saltmarshes of China and Korea, wintering along East Asian coasts to Vietnam. Black hood in breeding plumage, white wing-tip mirrors. Feeds on crustaceans and invertebrates in tidal mudflats. Threatened by reclamation of Yellow Sea tidal flats.
