About These Birds
New Britain Bronzewing
Medium-large terrestrial pigeon, 30–33 cm, similar to New Guinea Bronzewing but with a white head (not just forehead). Confined to lowland forests of New Britain in the Bismarck Archipelago. Feeds on seeds and fallen fruits on the forest floor. Least Concern.
Buff-fronted Quail-Dove
Medium quail-dove, 24–27 cm, with brown upperparts, a buff supercilium, grey crown, and rufous-washed underparts. Inhabits montane cloud forest in Costa Rica and western Panama. Terrestrial forager of seeds and forest fruits. Least Concern.
