About These Birds

Until recently unconfirmed as a breeding species; a small colony was found in 2021. Morphology similar to Black-bellied Storm-petrel; conservation status under review.
Pincoya Storm-petrel
Pincoya Storm-petrel, 16–18 cm, was described as a new species only in 2013 from the Chiloé Archipelago of Chile. One of the most recently discovered birds in the Americas.
