The Australian Hobby is a small, fast falcon found throughout Australia in open woodland, grassland, and along rivers. Weighing about 255.5g with a wingspan of 51cm, it has slate-grey upperparts and rufous underparts with dark facial markings. It hunts small birds, large insects, and bats in fast, agile pursuit flights.
African Pygmy-falcon
The African Pygmy-falcon is one of Africa's smallest raptors, with a wingspan of about 23 cm and a weight of around 61 g. It inhabits dry savannas and thornbush, often nesting in the large communal nests of weaver birds, and hunts lizards and large insects.
