Bartlett's Tinamou
A small brown tinamou with obscure barring and a grey throat, named after naturalist Edward Bartlett. Found in the western Amazon basin in Peru, Ecuador, and adjacent Brazil. Terrestrial and cryptic; detected mainly by its soft clear whistle in humid forest.
Berlepsch's Tinamou
A small tinamou with rich brown plumage and fine black barring. One of the least-known tinamous, restricted to Pacific lowland forests of Colombia and northwestern Ecuador. Largely understudied; known mainly from a handful of specimens. Terrestrial and secretive.
