Small dove, 18–22 cm, pale grey with white wing stripe and dark-tipped tail. Widespread in open and semi-open habitats from Brazil and Bolivia south to central Argentina and Uruguay. Granivore of seeds. Common in agricultural areas and grasslands. Least Concern.
