Tibetan Sandplover
Tibetan Sandplover: 17–19 cm, compact high-altitude plover with a rufous-orange breast-band, black forehead patch, and short bill. Breeds on rocky alpine tundra and high plateaus of the Tibetan highlands and Himalayan ranges; winters on coastal mudflats and sandy beaches of South and Southeast Asia. Migratory. Insectivorous and invertebrate feeder.
Pied Plover
Pied Plover: 22–24 cm, distinctive South American lapwing with bold black-and-white plumage, red facial skin, and long red legs. Inhabits open sandy riverbanks and gravel bars of major rivers from Venezuela south to Argentina. Feeds on invertebrates and small vertebrates. Largely resident; some local seasonal movements. Not globally threatened.
