About These Birds

Black-faced Rufous-warbler

The Black-faced Rufous-warbler is a small, secretive warbler with rich rufous-brown upperparts and a striking black face and throat, making it one of the more distinctively marked African warblers. It inhabits dense montane forest undergrowth and bamboo thickets in east-central Africa, particularly in the Albertine Rift region. It forages skulkingly close to the ground, searching leaf litter and dense vegetation for small insects.

Aberdare Cisticola

The Aberdare Cisticola is a vulnerable warbler restricted to the Aberdare Mountains of Kenya, weighing about 21g. It inhabits high-elevation montane grasslands threatened by habitat degradation.
