About These Birds
Black-headed Rufous-warbler
The Black-headed Rufous-warbler is a data-deficient, secretive warbler with a black head and throat, rufous-brown upperparts, and buff underparts. It inhabits dense forest undergrowth in west-central Africa, with a limited range in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. It skulks in dense vegetation close to the forest floor, gleaning small insects and invertebrates from leaf litter and stems.
Black-backed Cisticola
The Black-backed Cisticola is a small, grassland-dwelling warbler found in the damp grassy areas and wetland margins of West and Central Africa. It has a black back with buff streaking and warm rufous tones on the head and wings. It perches atop grass stems, singing persistently, and feeds on insects and small seeds.
