About These Birds
Black-headed Brushfinch
The Black-headed Brushfinch is a ground-dwelling sparrow with a striking black head, white supercilium, olive-green back, and gray-white underparts. It inhabits humid montane forests and forest edges from Costa Rica through Panama and into Colombia and Ecuador. It forages on or near the forest floor, searching through leaf litter for seeds, berries, and small insects.
