Hakkında
The Fire-tailed Sunbird (<em>Aethopyga ignicauda</em>) is a small nectarivorous bird belonging to the family Nectariniidae (Sunbirds). It inhabits forest environments, primarily in montane zones of the Himalayas and adjacent mountain ranges in South and Southeast Asia. Detailed plumage and behavioral descriptions of this species are limited in the available literature. The Fire-tailed Sunbird constructs a pendant nest (nest type PN), an enclosed hanging structure typical of many sunbirds. Clutch size ranges from 2 to 3 eggs. Song, diet, and geographic range information are not available in the current data. As a sunbird, it is presumed to feed primarily on nectar from flowering plants, with small insects and spiders supplementing its diet. The species is distributed across the Himalayas and into parts of China and Southeast Asia. It is assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN, indicating a stable population.
