Toucan-barbets; 2 species in the genus Semnornis found in the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Large, stout-billed birds with colorful plumage. Placed in their own family as the probable sister group to toucans. Inhabit humid montane forest at mid to high elevations. Feed on fruit.
