Salpornithidae

Spotted Creeper; a monotypic family containing only the Spotted Creeper of sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian subcontinent. Resembles the treecreepers of the Northern Hemisphere in behavior—creeping up tree trunks—but is not closely related to them. Part of an ancient isolated African lineage.
