Machaerirhynchidae

Boatbills; 2 species endemic to New Guinea and northeastern Australia. Small flycatchers with an unusually broad, flat bill shaped like a boat's bow. Yellow-breasted Boatbill and Black-breasted Boatbill. Inhabit rainforest and gallery forest. Catch insects in aerial sallies using their wide gape.
