Black-hooded Antshrike
The Black-hooded Antshrike is a medium-sized antbird; males are strikingly patterned in black with white wing spots while females are rufous-brown with dark streaking. It is endemic to the Pacific lowlands of Costa Rica and Panama, inhabiting the interior and edges of humid tropical forest and tall second growth. It forages in pairs through the understory, hunting insects and following army ant swarms.

The Acre Antshrike is a small antbird weighing about 22g found in the southwestern Amazon basin. It inhabits dense tropical forest understory, foraging for insects in thick vegetation.
