Small ground dove, 20–23 cm, with dark brown upperparts, a grey head, and a notably thick, robust bill. Known from the Solomon Islands; last confirmed record in 1904. Critically Endangered (possibly Extinct) due to deforestation, hunting, and introduced predators throughout the Solomon Islands.

Red-moustached Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus mercierii), 27 cm. Green with a red moustachial streak and orange underparts; endemic to the Marquesas Islands. Last confirmed on Nuku Hiva and Hiva Oa. Possibly Extinct; last reliably recorded in the 1970s. Threatened by introduced rats and cats.
