About These Birds
Enggano Cuckoo-Dove
Slender cuckoo-dove, 32–35 cm, uniform warm cinnamon-rufous with minimal barring and a relatively short tail. Restricted to Enggano Island off the southwestern coast of Sumatra. Inhabits dense lowland forest. Frugivore. Vulnerable due to extremely small range and ongoing forest loss on the island.
Moreno's Ground Dove
Small dove, 17–20 cm, pale sandy-buff with a bare facial patch and dark spotted wings, closely similar to Bare-faced Ground Dove. Endemic to high-altitude Andean scrub and steppe of northwestern Argentina (Catamarca, La Rioja, San Juan). Granivore of seeds. Least Concern.
