About These Birds
Enggano Cuckoo-Dove
Slender cuckoo-dove, 32–35 cm, uniform warm cinnamon-rufous with minimal barring and a relatively short tail. Restricted to Enggano Island off the southwestern coast of Sumatra. Inhabits dense lowland forest. Frugivore. Vulnerable due to extremely small range and ongoing forest loss on the island.
Crested Cuckoo-Dove
Large cuckoo-dove, 42–47 cm, rufous-brown with a bold frontal crest, grey head, and long barred tail. Confined to the Solomon Islands where it inhabits lowland and hill forest. Frugivore of forest fruits. Its prominent crest distinguishes it from other Reinwardtoena species. Least Concern.
