Medium-large terrestrial pigeon, 30–33 cm, similar to New Guinea Bronzewing but with a white head (not just forehead). Confined to lowland forests of New Britain in the Bismarck Archipelago. Feeds on seeds and fallen fruits on the forest floor. Least Concern.

Wompoo Fruit-dove (Megaloprepia magnifica), 45 cm. Largest Australian fruit-dove: brilliant purple-wine breast, yellow belly and vivid green upperparts. Inhabits tropical and subtropical rainforest of northeastern Queensland to New Guinea. Frugivore; specialist on rainforest fruits. Locally common; sensitive to fragmentation.
