The Black-hooded Laughingthrush is a medium-sized laughingthrush with a deep black hood covering the head and upper breast, contrasting with its brown and rufous body plumage. It is endemic to the highlands of Vietnam, inhabiting dense montane forest and bamboo thickets at elevations above 1,000 meters. It forages in noisy flocks through the undergrowth for insects, berries, and small invertebrates.

The Arrow-marked Babbler is a social African bird found in savanna woodlands and thornbush across sub-Saharan Africa. Weighing around 74g with a wingspan near 20.5cm, it travels in noisy groups and is identified by white arrow-shaped streaks on its brown plumage. It feeds on insects, fruit, and small vertebrates.
