Common Quail

A small, highly migratory Phasianidae quail (~108 g) breeding across Eurasia and wintering in Africa and South Asia. The only long-distance migratory galliform; travels by night. Males utter a distinctive 'wet-my-lips' call from cereal crops. Feeds on seeds and invertebrates. Least Concern despite hunting pressure.

Altai Snowcock

The largest snowcock (~2.77 kg), family Phasianidae, of alpine scree and subalpine meadows in the Altai and Tian Shan ranges of Central Asia. Heavily built, grey and white with rusty-brown markings.
