Caspian Plover
Caspian Plover: 18–21 cm, long-legged plover with a broad chestnut breast-band bordered below by black in breeding male. Breeds on dry steppe from the Caspian east to Kazakhstan; migrates overland to winter on open short grassland and semi-arid savanna of eastern and southern Africa. Insectivorous. Long-distance migrant through the Middle East.

Andean Lapwing: 29–32 cm, large lapwing of the high Andes with grey head, white supercilium, metallic green upperparts, and red-and-yellow bill. Resident on puna grassland, bogs, and lake margins from Colombia to northern Argentina at 3,000–4,800 m. Insectivorous. Sedentary high-altitude specialist. Often encountered near Andean wetlands.
