The Agami Heron is a near-threatened, strikingly patterned wading bird with a wingspan of about 55 cm and a weight of around 528 g. It inhabits shaded forest streams and swampy areas in Central and South America, where it stands motionless before striking with its exceptionally long, sharp bill.

The Eurasian Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) is a large, secretive heron of the family Ardeidae, native to wetlands across the Palearctic from Europe and North Africa east across Asia to Japan and the Russian Far East.
