Black-bellied Seedcracker

The Black-bellied Seedcracker is a robust finch of West and Central African forests, notable for its polymorphic bill size, which appears adapted for cracking different sizes of hard seeds. Males have a red head and throat with black underparts, while females are brownish. It inhabits dense forest undergrowth and adjacent thickets, feeding on hard sedge seeds and other plant material.
