Magellanic Plover (Pluvianellus socialis) is a unique 19–21 cm plover-like bird of Patagonian shores, sole member of family Pluvianellidae. Grey above, white below with pinkish-red legs and eye. Inhabits remote stony lakeshores and beaches in southern Argentina and Chile, wintering at coastal estuaries.
