Greater Sandplover: 22–25 cm, large stocky plover with a heavier bill than Siberian Sandplover, broad rufous breast-band, and greenish-grey legs. Breeds on semi-desert and stony steppe from Turkey east to Mongolia; winters on tropical coasts from East Africa to Australia. Feeds on invertebrates on sandy beaches and mudflats. Long-distance migrant.
