Red-moustached Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus mercierii), 27 cm. Green with a red moustachial streak and orange underparts; endemic to the Marquesas Islands. Last confirmed on Nuku Hiva and Hiva Oa. Possibly Extinct; last reliably recorded in the 1970s. Threatened by introduced rats and cats.
Sunda Collared-dove
Medium dove, 29–33 cm, brown with a pale grey head, two black neck collars (one partial, one full), and a pinkish breast. Native to the Lesser Sunda Islands, Philippines, and adjacent Indonesian islands. Inhabits open forest, scrub, and agricultural land. Granivore of seeds and grains. Often domesticated across its range. Least Concern.
