Bronze-winged Courser
Bronze-winged Courser: 25–28 cm, large nocturnal courser with glossy bronze wing-coverts, dark brown upperparts, and a red eye-ring. Resident in dry miombo and acacia woodland of sub-Saharan Africa from Senegal to Ethiopia and south to Zimbabwe. Insectivorous; most active at night. Cryptic and difficult to see in daytime.

Nocturnal and crepuscular insectivore, resting in shade during hot midday. Cryptic plumage provides camouflage on stony ground. Sedentary.
