White Swamphen
White Swamphen (Porphyrio albus) is an extinct all-white swamphen formerly endemic to Lord Howe Island, Australia. Known from specimens collected around 1790 and early drawings; had reduced wings indicating flightlessness or near-flightlessness. Extirpated by hunting after European discovery. Related to Australasian Swamphen.
Sora
Sora (Porzana carolina) is a 19–24 cm crake breeding across North America in freshwater marshes. Plump, with yellow bill, black face-mask, grey breast, and barred flanks. Winters south to northern South America. A secretive but abundant marsh bird; its descending whinny is a familiar wetland sound. Feeds on seeds, invertebrates, and aquatic plants.
