The Black-breasted Weaver is a colonial nesting weaver bird of South Asian grasslands and reed beds, with breeding males showing a chestnut crown, dark brown breast patch, and streaked yellow and brown upperparts. It ranges across the Indian subcontinent from Pakistan east to Bangladesh, inhabiting tall grasslands, cultivation, and marshes.
