About These Birds
Black-goggled Tanager
The Black-goggled Tanager is a medium-sized tanager with olive-green upperparts, yellowish underparts, and a distinctive black mask around the eyes, resembling goggles. It inhabits humid Atlantic forest of southeastern Brazil, Paraguay, and northeastern Argentina, foraging in the forest interior, edges, and second growth. It feeds on insects, fruits, and seeds, often joining mixed-species canopy flocks.
