Heuglin's Bustard

A large bustard (70-85 cm) found in semi-arid grasslands of the Horn of Africa and adjacent regions. Sandy-brown plumage. Omnivore. Named after the German explorer Theodor von Heuglin. Found in Somalia, Ethiopia, and northern Kenya.

Great Bustard

The heaviest flying bird in Europe (7-18 kg, up to 105 cm) with a massive grey-brown body and white underparts. Males have prominent whisker-like feathers. Found in open grasslands and steppes across Eurasia. Omnivore. Long-distance migrant. Classified as Vulnerable due to habitat loss.
