Tsingy Forest Rail
Tsingy Forest Rail (Mentocrex beankaensis), 21 cm. Similar to Madagascar Forest Rail but adapted to the Tsingy limestone formations in western Madagascar. Cryptic brown plumage; red bill. Omnivore in dense karst forest undergrowth. Vulnerable; restricted to the Beanka forest and adjacent tsingy habitats.

White-spotted Flufftail (Sarothrura pulchra), 15 cm. Small African rail; male rufous with white spots on wings and flanks, female brown. Inhabits dense undergrowth of lowland and montane forest across central and western Africa. Omnivore. Least Concern; widespread but secretive.
