The Beautiful Woodpecker is an attractively patterned woodpecker endemic to the forests and woodland edges of northwestern Colombia. Males have bold black-and-white barring on the back, a red cap, and yellow wash on the underparts. It forages on tree trunks and branches for insects, larvae, and fruits.

The Bar-bellied Woodpecker is a medium-sized woodpecker of the family Picidae found in montane forests on the Andean slopes from Colombia to Bolivia. Weighing about 43.3g with a wingspan of 19.6cm, it has barred black-and-white underparts and a red crown in males. It forages on tree trunks and branches for insects and larvae.
