Collared Pratincole: 23–26 cm, tern-like wader with long sickle-wings, forked tail, cream throat bordered black, and chestnut-orange underwings. Breeds on dry open plains, salt-lake margins, and semi-arid steppe from southern Europe and North Africa to Central Asia; winters in sub-Saharan Africa. Aerial insectivore. Long-distance migrant.

Bronze-winged Courser: 25–28 cm, large nocturnal courser with glossy bronze wing-coverts, dark brown upperparts, and a red eye-ring. Resident in dry miombo and acacia woodland of sub-Saharan Africa from Senegal to Ethiopia and south to Zimbabwe. Insectivorous; most active at night. Cryptic and difficult to see in daytime.
