About These Birds
Black-faced Tanager
The Black-faced Tanager is a medium-sized tanager with pale gray plumage, a dark back, and a striking black face and throat contrasting with its otherwise clean appearance. It inhabits open woodland, cerrado scrubland, forest edges, and second growth from Colombia and Venezuela to Bolivia and much of Brazil. It feeds on fruits, berries, and insects, often foraging in the open on shrubs and low trees.
