A spectacular, large turaco (70-76 cm) of tropical West and Central African rainforests. Bright blue plumage with a large yellow-green head crest. The largest turaco species. Frugivore of forest canopy. Known for its loud, resonant kok-kok-kok call echoing through the forest.
Black-billed Turaco
A medium-sized turaco (40-42 cm) found in lowland forests of Central Africa from Cameroon to Uganda. Glossy blue-black plumage with green body, white face markings, and crimson wing patches. Frugivore of primary forest canopy. Named after the German ornithologist Moritz Schütt.
