About These Birds
Blackish Pewee
The Blackish Pewee is a small, uniformly dark slaty-blackish flycatcher with slightly paler underparts and a narrow eye ring. It inhabits forest edges, clearings, and open woodland in Amazonian foothill and montane forest from Ecuador and Peru south to Bolivia. It hunts flying insects from exposed perches, making sallying flights in the manner typical of pewees.
