Berthelot's Pipit is a small pipit endemic to the Canary Islands and Madeira, inhabiting open rocky ground, coastal scrub, and cultivated areas. It has streaked brown plumage with paler underparts typical of pipits. It walks briskly on the ground searching for insects and small seeds, and performs parachuting song flights.
