Red-fronted Coot (Fulica rufifrons) is a 36–42 cm coot of South America's Andean and southern marshes, from Argentina and Chile north to Bolivia. All-black plumage with a conspicuous bright red frontal shield and white bill. Inhabits large open freshwater lakes with reed margins. Feeds on aquatic vegetation by diving and dabbling. Locally common.
