The Black-crowned Sparrow-lark is a small, sexually dimorphic lark of arid and semi-arid landscapes across Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and South Asia, with males displaying a bold black crown, face, and underparts contrasting with a white head patch. It inhabits open desert, semi-desert, and dry grassland habitats, feeding on seeds and small insects. It is often seen in small flocks in barren open ground.
