Kagu; a monotypic family containing only the Kagu, a striking flightless or near-flightless bird endemic to New Caledonia. Grey plumage, bright orange-red bill and legs, and elaborate crest. The only member of order Eurypygiformes in the Pacific. Endangered; threatened by dogs, cats, and rats.
